HL7 v2.2 (FOCUS) test file

Matches FOCUS import for HL7 v2.2: processing ID P, optional FHS/BHS batch, ADT demographics, DFT^P03 charges, OBX labs, and optional GT1/ZMY/ZPT/ZDG/ZDO/ZPA/ZPP segments.

HL7 version
Version 2.2 is available today. Other versions are stubbed for future interface specs and seed catalogs.

Sending system
For FOCUS, set up a vendor in Setup → Interface Setup and QMS → HL7 Vendor. Assign your unit to that vendor on the QMS → HL7 Vendor screen.
Must match a FOCUS unit abbreviation. DFT puts this in FT1-13. ADT copies it into each message’s PV1 assigned unit and empty ZPT unit fields (you can override per message). Seed lists live in App_Data/hl7-seed (restart app after editing JSON).

MSH Message Actions

Generate builds N unique patients at once using the QMS# and last-name prefixes. Check Include all optional segments to emit NK1/OBX/GT1/Z* with canned values instead of filling each section. Add buttons append one message with the same prefixes and include setting. Fill sample uses canned patients (see note below). Checking an Include box on a message refreshes Preview. Press Alt+T anywhere on this page to jump back here. Press Alt+P to jump to Preview.

Bulk MSH generation

QMS# prefix: Generate, Add, Random patient, and Fill sample (e.g. PL → PL001). Blank defaults to PL (max 2 characters). Last name prefix: prepended to PID last name only (e.g. GAB → GABTESTPATIENT). Blank leaves the generated last name unchanged. NK1 last name is not prefixed. FOCUS QMS# / PID-3 is at most 10 characters. Edit any message to override.
Fast path: Generate, Add, and Fill sample turn on every optional segment that applies to the message type (ADT vs DFT) and fill canned rows. Checking this on existing messages also refreshes Preview. Unchecking it only affects the next Generate/Add.

Additional MSH actions

Fill sample overwrites every message with canned examples (Jane TESTPATIENT, then the sample roster), sequential QMS# values, and the last-name prefix if set. If Include all optional segments is checked, it also turns those segments on. It is not unique random data — use Generate messages or Random patient for that.
